Why do we keep doing things a part of us wants to change?
This question sits at the center of Priyamvada Tendulkar’s work as an integrative, systems‑oriented psychologist. Over six years and thousands of clinical hours, she has worked with people who are intelligent and self‑aware yet find that insight alone doesn’t translate into change.
The gap between “I know what I should do” and “I keep doing the same thing” can be deeply frustrating. Priyamvada helps clients explore the roots of that gap: What need is the pattern meeting? What function has it served? What shaped it? What happens internally when they try to act differently? What might anger, avoidance, perfectionism, procrastination, addictive coping or withdrawal be protecting?
Her approach blends psychological depth with behavioural science, working at both mind and body levels. She examines how patterns become embedded in thoughts, emotions, bodily responses, relationships and family systems.
Her clinical work spans ADHD and executive dysfunction, procrastination, addiction and recovery, trauma, intimacy and relationship concerns, identity transitions, adolescents and women’s issues. With couples and families, she extends the same curiosity to relational dynamics and the systems that keep patterns repeating.
Priyamvada integrates psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy, somatic and trauma‑informed work, family‑systems approaches, REBT/CBT and Motivational Enhancement Therapy, adapting the process to each person rather than using a single model.
Her work moves across levels — person, pattern and system — helping clients understand why a pattern exists and build the internal shifts that make behavioural change possible.
